Coping Practices for Transplant Patients and Families to Strengthen Emotional Health through ACT Therapy
Feelings of depression and anxiety are often experienced by transplant patients and caregivers due to the toll that the transplant process can have on their lives. Seasonal changes, shortened daylight, and the pandemic can also have a major impact on emotional wellness.

Dr. Sarah Gulick will discuss the impact of depression and anxiety on individuals going through transplant/chronic illness and practical techniques and coping skills through ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to support and strengthen overall emotional and mental health.

ACT Principles to be discussed:
1. The Values Principle, which includes self-reflection and identifying our core belief system to stay motivated and inspired.
2. The Committed Action Principle, a coping technique, helps us to translate our beliefs and values into our everyday life.
